Concrete Restoration Update: November 7, 2019

President Stephanie DeAngelis issues Concrete Restoration Progress Report
Stephanie DeAngelis
Dear Regency Tower Residents,

Building Column Shoring Completed
Building Column Shoring Completed
There are a lot of good things to report!

Regency Tower has received a very nice holiday gift. Between December 24 and January 2, residents will have access to the pool and the beach during the day - all week long. The contractor has kindly agreed to continue working but keep stack one out of commission during that holiday week - allowing safe access for everyone to utilize the pool and beach all week long.

The project is moving along on schedule and there have been no significant delays.

All of the column shoring for the column repairs for the front of the building is complete and now the work has begun on the column repairs.

The balcony for unit 101 will be completed next month with tile / knock down finish, and painting so that it can be viewed by all residents. Everyone will be kept informed about viewing the mock up as soon as it's complete.

The northwest corner of the garage repairs are now complete.

The contractor said that the work on the first four balcony stacks will be complete at the end of December - barring any major delays. After that, work on the window drops will begin on the North side of the building.

We received an interesting proposal for shortening the project by as much as six weeks. It involves a new process for priming the balconies after the concrete is poured which allows the concrete to dry much quicker moving the entire process along faster. The board is waiting for a written estimate before proceeding with a vote.

We’re told the balcony tiles are on their way and should be here within the next couple of weeks. That timing works well with the progress of the project.

NOTE: After January 2, 2020, beach access will again be limited to weekdays after 5pm and weekends, and pool access will be limited to weekends until further notice.

Thank you again to everybody for your patience during this restoration project.

Regards.

Stephanie
