Board President Eileen Bendis |
March 1, 2017 - I can’t believe how beautiful our lobby and Rendezvous Room have turned out. Many people who were skeptical about the proposed new décor are now thrilled with the results. Of course, we will never be able to please 203 unit owners but we keep trying. Work has begun on remodeling the elevators. Please bear with the inconvenience during this work. There will be one elevator shut off as work is completed on each cab.
The decorating project not only beautified the lobby and the Rendezvous Room, but it also gave us the opportunity to conserve energy. The overhead lights were replaced with dimmable LED fixtures, lamps and sconces. The sconce bulbs use only 6.5 watts compared to the 60 watts that were originally installed and the table lamps originally had 150 watt bulbs and have been replaced with LEDs that only use about 12 watts. LEDS also have a much longer life and do not give off much heat.

Eddie Trains with National Guard |
Staff News: congratulations to our long-time security officer Faye Givens on her recent marriage to Trevor Manboard. We have a new pool / beach attendant, Emmaneus Tarius. Be sure to say hello and introduce yourself so he gets to know everyone. Eddie, our Chief of Security will be out for most of March for an assignment with the National Guard; we wish him well. We have covered his shifts with a couple of part-time “floaters” to fill the gaps in the schedule – Judith and Trevor.

New Heat Pump |
We are awaiting estimates for the cost of replacing one of our pool heaters that has been out of order. Hopefully, this will address complaints about the pool being too cold. Also, please don’t ignore the requirement that the service elevator is to be used when you are in bathing attire, coming or going to the pool or beach, even if you are not wet.
Important reminder: the speed limit on our parking ramps and in our garage is 5 MPH. Many people walk in these areas and have almost been hit by speeding drivers. SLOW DOWN!
Did you know, that a new Goodwill Donation Center has opened on the Galt right beside the Galt Library? They take everything except large furniture. They even take electronics. I just gave them a broken computer.
Title changes: if you wish to put your unit into a trust, we must be notified of your intent and it must be pre-approved by our attorney.
The second notice and election materials have been mailed (or hand delivered to those in residence) for our March 20th Annual meeting and election. Be sure to vote!
